Romping Around Cascade Springs

What better way to spend a Tuesday evening than romping around the mountains with our very good friends the Saltzmans. The venue for the evening was Cascade Springs and it was absolutely beautiful with all of the fall colors making their grand debut. It was right at dusk and beautiful.
Sorry Chad, I love this picture even though you're in mid- blink...
Because it was kind of late-ish at night and we ran out of light, we didn't get to enjoy the full experience so I made Chad go back on Thursday afternoon to explore around the lower boardwalks. There are some days I just love Utah.

Park Date with Mom &Dad

Daddy's day off means park day for Ryder man. Although he's not exactly big enough to enjoy all the activities the park has to offer, he loves spending time on the swings and watching the big kids run around.

Yellowstone 2012

Last week Chad got a few days off so we could finally go and visit Yellowstone. We've been meaning to go for so long and I don't know why we've been putting it off! I wish we could have spent two weeks up in the wonderfully beautiful scenery with these two guys of mine.  Two days was just not long enough. I couldn't believe how big Yellowstone is and how much there is to see!! Plus, in case you were wondering, we have the best kid ever. 7 months old and even though we spent so many hours in the car, he was such a great sport! He loved hiking in his backpack, exploring all of the different sites, and being the center of attention to any random stranger that we passed by. I've never talked to so many random strangers before... I guess when you have the cutest kid on the planet that tends to happen!
On the way there, we decided to take the more scenic route through Wyoming and Grand Teton National Park. We left Tuesday morning at 10:00 am and learned fast that when you have a kid, part of your vacation is the journey. You make scenic stops and enjoy all of the towns along the way... its better for everyone that way. We also perfected the art of feeding said baby in the car. It definitely takes some juggling, but in the end we became quite the experts.
A little stop in Jackson, WY  for some dinner and to see the antler arches.
one of the many diaper changes on the side of the road... once again, we are now experts of the art of diaper changing anywhere!
 Old Faithful
While at Old Faithful, there was a cute little Asian family that were being quite verbal and were highly enthusiastic about the whole geyser thing. Ryder couldn't keep his eyes off them! It was kind of hilarious.
 Hiking to see Yellowstone Falls
In case anyone was wondering, someday I am going to apply for this job... nursing at Yellowstone. Yes. Sign me up. Plus look at that gurney. Awesome.
 Bison.
 Traveling with a baby...
 Elephant Back Hike
 My favorite turtle face.
 Yellowstone Lake
 Fairy Falls Hike
Thank you Yellowstone, hopefully we'll be back soon!
