21

I am 21. There 's not much more to say than that. I guess since my Dad told all his friends when we got married that I was 20, in some alternate universe I've been 21 for almost a year now. I had a fantastic birthday: I got my cousin Arah back from Switzerland (see previous post), my mom and brother came to visit, my little cousin Lauren got baptized, and we went skiing as a family. There's no other better way to celebrate a birthday than with family.

Mom & Aunt Julie (Thelma & Louise)
I have no words.
Game playing with the family.
Getting ready for church, Luke loves that fedora.
Brother love.
Kimber, Jason, & Kenzie brought me some beautiful flowers for my birthday:
One of my favorite presents, a portable CD player with a cord to connect it to our ipod speakers. I know, a CD player is a little "behind the times" but my new favorite thing is to listen to books on CD that I've checked out at the library. It's great! I turn a CD on while I'm at home cooking, doing dishes, or cleaning. So far this year I've listened to four books! It's a great way to not feel alone while I'm at home in the evening and not give up leisure reading during the semester. I've been listening to CDs in our computer, but a portable CD player means I can listen with headphones anytime I want, OR hook it up to the speakers. Chad knew just what I wanted.

He's Home!

Anxiously waiting at the airport...
Laughing,
smiling,
eating See's candy suckers,
jumping,
posing,
standing,
sitting,
laughing...again,
anticipating,
standing & comparing, until...
HE'S FINALLY HERE!
Isn't he a stud?
The whole fam.
Side story: We were there waiting for Arah's bags to come around the spinning carousel of death. All of a sudden, we noticed there was a member of the Utah Jazz getting his bags too. It was none other than Okur! These are our star-struck attempts at inconspicuously getting a picture.
Morgie is so excited her brother is home!

And then finally heading to the car to get the Cafe Rio pork burrito we have stashed and waiting for his return.
I'm so glad that my favorite cousin Arah is home!
If anyone wants a date with this stud, let me know... I've got connections.

Vans

Chad and I officially have matching Vans. I think it brings us closer together as a couple.

Chad's Dream Bike.... again.

As many of you know, Chad's bike was stolen during fall semester and Chad has been on the lookout for a replacement since then. He finally bought his dream bike, a roadbike, a fixie at that! Here are a couple of pictures of the happy boy with his bike.
Gotta love the dress socks with the rolled up jeans. It's my favorite.
Look at that face of sheer happiness.
No legs!
Chad loves his new bike. He even got style points from THE Bryan Bourne for it's sexy appeal. Bike approval from a Bourne means a lot in our house. Bikes bring happiness in our house. We need to get a less expensive hobby.

A Riley Weekend

My sister Riley came to visit this past weekend and we had a blast. I just love that girl. Here is a quick summary of the weekend.

Two days of snowboarding:
We were the dream girls.
Chad joined us in the afternoon!
On Saturday, we went to the Canyons in Park City with our very favorite Natalie Boud...
Then on Sunday night we made a Valentine's treat... Pink, heart-shaped cinnamon rolls.
They were Chad-approved!
It was a fantastic, Riley-filled weekend!
