Employed

As of Thursday July 28th at 9:30 a.m., I was officially offered a position as a Registered Nurse at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center!
I will be working on the medical oncology unit on the 7th floor as a full-time night nurse. It's going to be quite the adventure!

I've been looking for and applying for RN positions all the way from Payson to Salt Lake since I got my license in May. After applying for every job under the sun, I finally got an interview at UVRMC (the hospital right down the street) about a week ago. I didn't know anyone there and I have never been on the unit before, but I got the interview and apparently they liked me. I'm so grateful for this opportunity to be working as an RN in a hospital, especially one that is so conveniently located.

It's going to be exciting and scary all at the same time. Even though I've had a lot of experience during nursing school, working in the actual field is going to be a whole other story. I start orienting on August 15th so wish me luck!

Timpanogos Caves

This morning we got up early and decided it was time for a hike to Timpanogos Caves. It's been one that we've been wanting to do for a while and it was such a beautiful hike. It's a pretty steep uphill 1 1/2 mile climb to the cave entrance. The canyon is beautiful and the hike is gorgeous.
Tree growing out of a mountain... I thought it was pretty cool.
Chad dubbed this the "Door to Narnia"... it's the entrance to the caves.
Timpanogos Caves are actually 3 caves that are all connected by tunnels. Some of the formations are pretty cool.
We climbed through a fault line! ...It was a pretty tight squeeze.
"Cave Bacon", that's what they call this kind of formation.
I love Chad's day off!

A new Mac at our house

That's right, we got a brand new computer at our house this week, and we love it! We had not really anticipated getting one that was quite this big and quite this nice, but the opportunity arose and we grabbed it!

Our faithful, white macbook has served us well the last 4 years. It was the computer that we shared through the last 3 years of college. But time was running out on the life of our trsty laptop. Even though we'd replaced the disk drive and upgraded the harddrive, the battery was dying and had a hard time holding a charge and after I dropped it about a year ago, the screen was a little off-kilter. It was time for an upgrade. Chad took the laptop to Simply Mac where they were having a deal on a sweet desktop. It's 27", I7 processor, and a 2 TB harddrive. With a fortunate bit of a luck and a heated debate with the salesguy, we were able to sell back our old laptop and put it towards the cost of the new computer.

It's awesome. Although we no longer have a laptop, we're at a point now where we don't really need one, I'm graduated and Chad only has 18 credits left. We absolutely love it. An unanticipated, added benefit is that we've put it in our room and started doubling it as tv for our bedroom. It's been great for watching Netflix and movies in our room.

We love our new computer!

*This post is dedicated to Mike and Meghan Caldwell, our Mac go-to family.

Snapshots from the 'Happiest Place on Earth'

Here are a few shots from our most recent adventure to California... namely, Disneyland!
This is probably my favorite picture... could a boy be any happier?
This lady was my fav... sporting the 3d glasses like they were sunglasses. Unfortunately, right after this picture was taken, a Disneyland employee came up and confiscated them. Hilarious.
I miss California already. Our most recent adventure to California was a wonderful time to be kids again at Disneyland, spend time with our family and friends, and hit the beach!
