On Friday, we spent the day up in Salt Lake while Luke was in rehearsals. My mom took me out for a pedicure in the morning and then we met up the kids for lunch at the Blue Lemon.

The weekend Luke sang in the Tabernacle...
My little brother Luke is in the Orange County Mormon Choral Organization (OCMCO) and this weekend they performed "Messiah in America" this weekend in the Salt Lake City Tabernacle. He was so excited for the opportunity to come up to Utah and sing, almost as excited as I was for the quick trip they had to take to come up to Utah. My mom, Luke, and Thomas got here on Thursday morning and I got to spend the next couple of days just hanging out with them.

We spent the rest of the afternoon at Temple Square and walking around Salt Lake. Before the show started at 7:30, my grandma took us out to dinner at the Joseph Smith Building. It was quite tasty.

Southern Utah
Turns out you don't have to necessarily have to go somewhere exotic or far away to have a great vacation. Sometimes exploring something familiar and close can be an awesome experience. That's what our Southern Utah weekend was, a wonderful escape.
We began the weekend by driving down Thursday night and camping at Gooseberry Mesa that night. First thing Friday morning, we were up with the sun and out for a beautiful ride on the infamous Mesa. The day was beautiful and the ride was challenging.

After our 4 hour ride on the Mesa, we were both pretty exhausted so we headed down to Hurricane for a quick lunch break. We ended up stopping at a little park and just chilling for an hour to get ready for our second ride of the day.

A little later on in the afternoon we headed to the Jem Trail for a totally different ride, but equally as fun.

On Saturday, we headed to Zion and hiked Angel's Landing, a new hike for both of us.

Saturday afternoon, we explored around St. George and went to visit my Great Grandparent's grave. Perfect activity for Memorial Day Weekend.
We were lucky to meet up with the Cummings that night at an awesome little place called 25 and Main. Tommy performed while we munched on some delicious cupcakes. It was so much fun to catch up with good friends.

We left the beautiful, warm St. George on Sunday afternoon and headed back home to Provo... and the pouring rain. I'm completely 100% in love with my wonderful husband and I love these opportunities to have so much fun together.
