Yellowstone 2012

Last week Chad got a few days off so we could finally go and visit Yellowstone. We've been meaning to go for so long and I don't know why we've been putting it off! I wish we could have spent two weeks up in the wonderfully beautiful scenery with these two guys of mine.  Two days was just not long enough. I couldn't believe how big Yellowstone is and how much there is to see!! Plus, in case you were wondering, we have the best kid ever. 7 months old and even though we spent so many hours in the car, he was such a great sport! He loved hiking in his backpack, exploring all of the different sites, and being the center of attention to any random stranger that we passed by. I've never talked to so many random strangers before... I guess when you have the cutest kid on the planet that tends to happen!
On the way there, we decided to take the more scenic route through Wyoming and Grand Teton National Park. We left Tuesday morning at 10:00 am and learned fast that when you have a kid, part of your vacation is the journey. You make scenic stops and enjoy all of the towns along the way... its better for everyone that way. We also perfected the art of feeding said baby in the car. It definitely takes some juggling, but in the end we became quite the experts.
A little stop in Jackson, WY  for some dinner and to see the antler arches.
one of the many diaper changes on the side of the road... once again, we are now experts of the art of diaper changing anywhere!
 Old Faithful
While at Old Faithful, there was a cute little Asian family that were being quite verbal and were highly enthusiastic about the whole geyser thing. Ryder couldn't keep his eyes off them! It was kind of hilarious.
 Hiking to see Yellowstone Falls
In case anyone was wondering, someday I am going to apply for this job... nursing at Yellowstone. Yes. Sign me up. Plus look at that gurney. Awesome.
 Bison.
 Traveling with a baby...
 Elephant Back Hike
 My favorite turtle face.
 Yellowstone Lake
 Fairy Falls Hike
Thank you Yellowstone, hopefully we'll be back soon!

{Ryder :: 7 months}

This kid sure keeps us laughing... at 7 months our Ryder man is starting to become his own little person.
  • he is WIGGLE WORM, he loves to be constantly moving (as you can tell from some of the pictures)
  • makes the cutest little turtle face, sucks in that bottom lip like there's no tomorrow
  • he is a happy kid and loves attention... he knows just how to flirt with a crowd
  • is in the teething stage right now- his 2 bottom teeth are about to pop through at any second
  • loves fruit and gnawing on graham crackers
  • tolerates vegetables as long as you let him have fruit too
  • sits like a pro but is not crawling yet... we're living up this wonderful stage where we sit him down to play on his blanket and he can't go far
  • loves standing up and has this fun trick where he likes to stamp his foot and bounce around when he's standing up
  • is starting to have a preference for us over anyone else and we love it
  • sleeps through the night except for a night here or there when the teething takes over, we count our blessings he's good to us most of the time
  • is such a good sport- lets us drag him all over in his hiking backpack
