Sunday Thought

During sunday school this past week, we talked a little bit about sanctification and what it means for us in our lives. In the course of our discussion, a question was raised about whether sanctification is all one continual effort or if you become sanctified in one aspect of your life and then move on to the next. Chad pointed out that when he was 13 years old, he struggled with things totally unique from his challenges now, and was able to overcome those challenges. But even when we overcome minor hurdles, does that mean we have become sanctified in that aspect?

I tend to take a broader sense of the term "sanctified". Sanctification is a lifelong journey, kind of the whole reason we're here. However, under the umbrella of sanctification are steps that require conquering. We must become sanctified in every aspect of our life before we return home again.

I'm not sure I'm making much sense, but I guess the insight I received on Sunday was: Even though I may not notice it, I am continually growing and changing. Things that used to be a big deal to me seem so insignificant, and the introduction of new challenges, much more intricate and involved challenges, are the reason I'm here. Hard things are GOOD THINGS. Anyways, thought for the day.
