Stitches No More!

So I was supposed to go to the doctor today at 11:00 a.m. to have my stitches removed, but last minute I had to cancel my appointment so that I could go over my test with my pathophysiology professor. The next time I could possibly go and the health center had an opening, was on Friday (which would mean I would have to take my lunch break to go). I was in a pickle. Who really wants to take their brief lunch break to go to the doctor?

I was pondering over this minute quandary when it suddenly dawned on me. "Hey, I am a nursing student and I learned last semester how to remove stitches. Granted I cut them out of a mannequin, but I know the basic principles." So I stopped what I was doing, went and grabbed a pair of tweezers & some scissors, and started operating. Because I couldn't use my left arm to help cut them out, I had to have Chad help me on the second one, but a few minutes later my stitches were gone! Problem solved. From now on, I think I'll always cut out my own stitches: no extraneous doctor visits and no extra co-pays. Hooray!
