Weekend Adventures

This past weekend was a fun one, spent (as usual) hanging out with our two best friends. On Friday night, we decided we wanted some shooting practice so we jumped in our cars and went exploring around squaw peak for a good campsite for a fire/shooting area. Just our luck, we found this beautiful little clearing for shooting, and we each took turns in the waist-high grass shooting clay pigeons. By the end of the evening, we decided that purchasing a gun is somewhere in our immediate future. We both love it! Plus, Provo just has that dangerous feel to it, I think a gun would make us feel safer.

The other purpose for our evening in the wilderness was to build a bonfire to burn all of the post-wedding garbage from Shane and Jacie's wedding. Their truck was a little full.First we built the fire, then decided that it wasn't dark enough yet, so they tried to put it out. I don't know who's idea that was...

The camp site next to ours was already taken, but it was absolutely beautiful. It sits right on the edge of the hill looking out into Utah Valley. Next time we go camping, it will be at this spot.

The evening's dinner was comprised of hot dogs/brats, chips, and donuts. Dinner of champions. Shane thought it was pretty cool.

Shane also really liked the donuts. They were delicious.

The next entertainment of the evening was watching Chad and Shane break up the 2nd pallet into pieces. They both thought they were indestructible.

Overall, it was a great evening out at Squaw Peak.

The other fun adventure of the weekend was a haircutting lesson for Jacie. Chad cuts his own hair (with my help at some parts) and Jacie wanted to learn how to cut Shane's. This is actually the second married couple that we've taught how to cut hair... he's just such a good teacher! I don't know why more guys don't cut their own hair. Chad likes his cut almost every 3 weeks, so if he were going somewhere else to get his hair cut, that would be anywhere from $10-$15 every three weeks. The money we save every year for cutting it ourselves is awesome and can be used for so many other good things!
All in all, a happy weekend.
